This is a simple circuit for sensing the water. It consists one DC battery, a resistor and a speaker. There are two contacts A and B which we should connect to water. When the A and B are in water the circuit completes and current starts flowing through resistor R1. Therefore buzzer produces the sound. If buzzer sound is not clear try increasing the DC voltage or decreasing the R1.
It can be used as any liquid detector circuit also.
